Before we dive in

September was the month AI got personal. Meta launched Muse, an agent that browses, fills in forms and pays on your behalf. OpenAI rolled out dots, agents that plug into 4,000+ apps. Instinct, which texts and calls businesses for you, raised $1B at a $10B valuation, and just this week brought its agent into group chats.
Every major player wants to be the assistant that runs your life, and now your friends' plans too.

We think the future holds many assistants, not one, each built deep for a specific segment. That's why we backed Catch, an AI assistant built for executives and business leaders.

Our take for founders: choose your assistants wisely. An agent with access to your inbox, calendar and payments is also a new security risk, so check what it can touch before you connect it. And keep business and personal separate. The assistant planning your weekend with friends shouldn't be the one reading your board emails.

Lasso Security Raises $30M and Launches LEAP

Lasso Security raised $30M led by ClearSky, with Entrée investing again alongside iAngels, Singtel Innov8, Mindset and Swish Data. It also launched LEAP, an AI guardrail that runs entirely on standard CPUs and returns a verdict in under 5ms. Most guardrails route every request through a second model on GPUs, so at scale companies only inspect a fraction of their traffic. LEAP makes it affordable to check all of it. Revenue grew 500%+ in the past year, with customers including BMW, eToro, Fiverr and the US Department of Homeland Security.
